Intro
This post will look at how I go about scouting for my squads in general on Sorare.
The most important tool I found in planning ahead was a general grasp of the Sorare Calendar and league start & end dates.
Another aspect that has always been important to me is the players utility. This includes:
How many GWs in the league (left this season and overall)
Do they play for a team in extra competition (Europe/ACL/Copa Libertadores)
Do they play for their national team
I have found some of my best successes in midweek and in competitions such as the Conference league. This sounds obvious of course but there were many competitions and leagues I didn't fully understand and it took me a while to get a feel for.
A site I often use to gauge teams qualities and betting odds is FiveThirtyEight
Not only does it provide betting odds, it also gives dates of games and a quick understanding of who the best teams are in leagues I may not be familiar with (eg Norway)
This posts is not intended to be a definitive list of leagues or specific players to aim for, rather give an insight into how I look and things and what has brought me the most success.
Calendar
The below are some sites I use/can suggest, though I also always look myself to confirm dates especially for leagues that have multiple phases eg La Liga Mx
Leagues starting after World Cup by date
Currently and understandably all interest is on the World Cup. The focus for me is after the World Cup and interestingly there is in fact a lot of games left for most leagues. Below is a run down of some of the leagues starting soon after the World Cup though is not a definitive list (eg League 2 leagues will be happening during the World Cup):

Player suggestion:
Name: Attila Szalai
Rare average Price: 0.172
Notes: Fenerbache have had an excellent first half of the season and are favourites for the title. Szalai is a starter for Hungary and Fenerbache are also in the Europa league giving extra utility. There is a risk of transfer after this season and again this is just an example of a player that "ticks" the boxes for me

Home Advantage
I have found Home advantage can have a big effect and it varies by league.
I use this site to get general info overall leagues including xG, CS% and home advantage
The below is no surprise with LAFC and Philadelphia topping the charts. What I want to look at in particular is where others may not.
If we look at teams by CS % we can see Chicago Fire, RSL and Colorado all with the highest
I would then dig deeper in SD and look at these teams to find interesting and potentially underpriced players
Eg Brody for RSL overall has this profile:
If we just look at home games we get:
This also applies for xG and attackers. Eg in the Scottish Premier League we can see that Aberdeen have the best home advantage
Players like Bojan Miovski will go from 47 overall average
to 61 when playing at home:
I am not suggesting these players per se and of course more research is needed in terms of their clubs and future role. My aim is to illustrate how different methods can be used to scout out players which can give an edge.
I have found that leagues less known and where there is high level of cleansheets are very good for GK+DEF combos especially when the DEF is SR and in All Star Pro eg
Finish
I hope you find this post useful in making your Sorare decisions! Do let me know your thoughts and opinions on this
I have another post here that looks at how I use SD, in particular looking for gaps in my squad for future GWs
I find it helps to have varied leagues from America and Asia divisions as they are relatively cheap and very useful in the post June months. I find that All Star Pro the best division and where in particular I use a hybrid of leagues depending on fixtures and form on that particular GW
