Intro
This post will look at a players I consider undervalued. This is from the perspective of trading and also SO5 value. I have noticed that there has been an uptick in interest with the J league and people are after building for next season.
This is my 3rd offseason with the J league on Sorare and the general trend for each has surprised me in both how low player values go and then secondly how high they go just before and into the new season. Each year is very different & there is no guarantee the same trend continues of course but I am fairly confident that there is still plenty of value of there.
I will be looking at different type of players I like below, giving the reasons I like them and also what their peak prices were last season. I have used ETH prices over $ values simply as ETH was close to an all time high last year and using the $ value would exaggerate the potential gains to be had.
Underpriced players
Name: Tsukasa Shiotani
Team: Hiroshima Sanfreece
League: J1 League
Av Price: 0.026
Target Sell Price: 0.13+
Target time to sell: Feb 2022 (into hype or start of season)
Notes: He was injured for a significant period of the season. He is a starting CB and trusted by the manager. Has alot of experience including international. Some might be put off by his age but I am am confident he will remain at Hiroshima - you could wait for the renewal of his contract if not fully convinced of course :)
Name: Hiroaki Okuno
Team: C. Osaka
League: J1 League
Av Price: 0.105
Peak price in the last year: 0.3
Target Sell Price: 0.2+

Notes: Okuno has a L40 of 60 which is elite levels and comparable to these players
His So5 scores have been a lot lower recently. I feel this is due to the number of games hes played over the season and im confident he will return to scores closer to his L40. I prefer to buy when the theres a difference between the L40 and L5 like this. There are no signs of him playing less of a role at C.Osaka next season.
Name: Ryuta Koike
Team: Yokohama FM
League: J1 League
Av Price: 0.13

Notes: Another player whose L40 (58) is someway off his L5 (51). Koike has been managing a leg injury most of the second half of the season.
The off season will allow him to recover and his potential is huge esp at home where he averages 63. YFM are a great and attacking team and he is first choice RB . There will be the occasional rotation with him but he a well trusted player who can score/assist. Nagato is another who I like for YFM that has very good peak scores. He is on set pieces which really helps. He has stamina issues so can be rotated much more that Koike. I do expect this to calm down next year as the J League calendar will be a lot less intense
Name: Shun Nakamura
Team: Avispa Fukuoka
League: J1 League
Av Price: 0.01
Peak Price in last year: 0.09
Target Sell Price: 0.04+

Notes: More of a budget/threshold player, Nakamura feels underpriced for me. He is a starter for the side and also on set pieces. Fukuoka were hit my a number of covid outbreaks which effected their flow. I expect him to be a firm starter next season too.
Name: Ryota Aoki
Team: Sapporo
League: J1 League
Av Price: 0.038
Peak Price in last year: 0.08
Target Sell Price: 0.065+

Notes: Aoki is a very attacking player, that can play as a forward. He was Sapporos MVP and top scorer last season.
There is def rotation risk with him, however in the second half of the season he was firmly a starter when fit. He gets nice peak scores and has a highly impressive 45% of games with scores >60.
This is the type of player I also like as a value/budget SR if I can get for around 0.1. They can get the type of scores you need to win rewards for excellent value. I also take particular notice of the XP of last years cards ( when next years new cards come out, they dont lose 5% unlike this years cards) with the cards and if managers such as Pawel are selling
Name:Morishige
Team: Fc Tokyo
League: J1 League
Av Price: 0.049
Peak Price in last year: 0.275
Target Sell Price: 0.12

Notes: Morishige is reported to have signed a new contract with FC Tokyo. He is the captain and leader of the side. Despite his age, he is v likely to be a firm starter and captain next year as FC Tokyo continue their rebuild under new ownership
I dont expect him to reach the dizzy prices of last year where his early form saw his price >0.2 for most of the summer. I do think 0.05 is value, especially if you have Slowik. His SR has also been selling for 0.18ish which again is good value.
Name: Harakawa
Team: C.Osaka
League: J1 League
Av Price: 0.075
Target Sell Price: 0.2+
Target time to sell: Mid April - May
Notes: Harakawa is currently injured and will be out until around March. I am including him here as a player than drop in price significantly when injured as lots of players will not realise he is a starter and an excellent player & starter
Last season Okuno ended the season injured and I was about to pick up his SR for 0.087 eth.
I find both injured players and players from teams that have been relegated but v likely to transfer to provide decent trading/value potential. Last year, players like Iwao and Matsuo were at relegated teams that then moved to J1 teams - its never guaranteed but they both were heavily linked.
This season, players like Shimizus Yamahara, Yuito Suzuki and Santana are likely to leave. I will be keeping an eye out on these type of players for sure
