Predicted lineups for GW 296 for J1 League for Patreon

Intro

We hopefully have a full schedule of 9 games this GW in the J1 League

I have made the predicted lineups for games on the PlaySharper app which can be found here:

https://playsharper.com/lineups Please only use the website rather than the app as there are some bugs currently being looked into on the mobile app.

I have also copy pasted the image of the lineups incase you have difficulty accessing the desktop site.

Important to note the %s used here and where they are not above 75% it is because I feel there is some risk involved. My main aim with these is to show where risk/potential DNPs are lurking.

I base these %s on info I read from various sources including comments from the manager and reading a lot of local Japanese news coverage/message boards.

These are my own opinion of the situation at each team. I try to be as neutral as possible but we all have biases :) So always do your own research when making picks! I may well miss something but a lot of times its due to lack of information where we get "surprise" DNPs. I will also have more info for players I own as a I naturally check those more actively.

Player Suspensions

The following players are suspended for this GW:

Covid Cases/Typhoon

Covid cases have calmed down thankfully though Fukuoka had new cases and could only field 3 players on the bench midweek. Anymore cases and their game could be at risk. I have listed the few players I suspect are cases and doubtful for this GW

Suspected players with Covid

  • Jonjić (C.Osaka)

  • Savio (Kashiwa)

  • Sasaki (Frontale)

  • Mae (Fukuoka)

This is my assumptions based on these players not being in the squads suddenly at the same time cases were announced. Undisclosed injury cant be ruled out though. At the moment, I would suggest not to use until we see them in training or have some info from managers. I will update everything I find here :)

Typhoon

This is the current trajectory of the typhoon that is hitting Japan at the moment. It will be hitting the Tokyo area tomorrow which does put the below games at slight risk:

  • FC Tokyo vs C.Osaka

  • Kawasaki Frontale vs Kyoto

  • Yokohama FM vs Shonan Bellmare

  • Iwata vs Urawa

I will update if I see anything on this. I personally will be putting my Frontale and Urawa players in 1 team that is less important to me. I am no weather expert and these things are very hard to predict. Sadly, I cant see any announcement from clubs before the deadline

J1 League GW296

Sapporo vs Kobe

  • Suga returns from suspension

  • No known injuries so I expect a similar team to last week when they won 5-1

  • Iikura wasnt in the league cup squad. Could just have been rested, though that & his howler last week is why the % is lower than normal

  • Kobe are still struggling despite the new signings. Mugosa played the full 90 in midweek so I see him starting on the bench for this game

  • Kobe play midweek in the ACL quarter finals. For me they should be prioritising the league so I expect their strongest team playing in this one.

Betting Odds

Iwata vs Urawa

  • Scholz returned in the midweek 3-0 win

  • Hirano and Shibato were injured (the extent of the injury hasnt been disclosed) though this means Iwao + Ito should play here:

  • Urawa play in the ACL midweek which they are likely putting as a priority as its their only realistic chance to get silverware/ACL qualification for next season. Hard to know how this effects the team - I feel Sakai could be rested here as his experience is needed for the ACL game

Betting Odds

FC Tokyo vs C.Osaka

  • Watanabe back in training and should start this one

  • Adailton/Leandro/Mita fighting for a starting spot - hard one call

  • Harakawa had a nasty looking fall/injury in the last game. Nothing officially declared but I dont see him playing this one (hasnt been seen in training)

  • Played midweek with the below team - Yamanaka and Suzuki I see as risks for being rested after playing the 90 mins.

  • Jonjić likely a covid case and not seen in training so I expect Nishio and Toriumi as CBs again.

Betting Odds

Frontale vs Kyoto

  • Played midweek with the below team

  • Lots of players returning from injury/covid and almost at full strength again

  • Jesiel went off on the stretcher in the last game. No offical info, so I see him as a risk for this game with Kurumaya the likely replacement

Betting Odds

Yokohama FM vs Shonan

  • Nishimura went off injured from the last game and no official announcement yet - I see him questionable at best for this game with MJ starting

  • Played in the league cup with the below team:

  • I see them rotating back to a similar team that played the league game last week including Eduardo, Koike and Elber

  • Training was changed last minute from public to private yesterday so hoping to get updates before deadline which Ill post on Discord

  • Machino went off injured in the last game and seen using crutches so likely out for this game

  • Tanaka not seen in training so I see Yonemoto likely starting this one

Betting Odds

Kashima vs Fukuoka

  • Misao is suspended for this game

  • New manager so could see changes in personnel/formation but no hints yet outside him saying he wanted players like Pituca to express themselves more in game

  • Lots of players still out with covid - the game is still on though any new cases will put it at risk

  • Very hard to predict the lineup, Nara is suspended so Miya and Grolli should be safe starters

  • Murakami got a clean sheet in the league cup so has a chance to start. Though after looking at the msg boards have Nagaishi as favourite just about

  • Played midweek with the below team (and only 1 outfield sub!)

Betting Odds

Kashiwa vs Hiroshima

  • Koga seen in training this week - could start this one though still a risk as unknown his match fitness

  • Savio on the other hand not seen in training pics so remains a doubt for this game

  • Played midweek so there is some rotation risk, however Hiroshima outside one time havent rotated much even after midweek games & with this being a tough game, I expect they will put a strong team out

Betting Odds

Gamba vs Shimizu

  • Suzuki in "poor condition" and assumed out for this one

  • Alano could make his debut in this one

Betting Odds

Sagan Tosu vs Nagoya

  • I expect Nagoya to rotate back to the team that won 3-0 last week

  • Shigehiro went off at halftime against Urawa midweek and uncertain if that was tactical or an injury hence him being at 55%

Betting Odds

Finish

I hope you found this useful! I will be updating on Discord all info that drops between now and the deadline. I am in particular waiting for the Yokohama FM training report and more info on the typhoon/if games are at risk.

In terms of betting odds:

xG- Frontale have the best xG with 2 followed by Yokohama FM at 1.75

xGA - Frontale (48%), Kashima (46%), Urawa (40%) and YFM (40%) are the teams with the best clean sheet odds

For specialist and players <40 L15 I like Min Tae, Noborizato, M.Junior especially though there is risk around them starting etc

As always these are just my own views on the situation based on research for each team.

I will be updating the Discord Channel with any info I see that could prove useful all the way to deadline, so keep a look out for that!
